I've stayed in a lot of mid-range Victoria rooms as I come to the city a few times a year for work. I had a room upgrade to a suite and appreciated all the space for organizing things off my motorcycle. There could have been more hangers but I made do (my preference would also be to have doors on closets but that's a quibble). Great little kitchen with two burner glass stove, good microwave and good fridge. Basics were stocked and on the low end side for pots and cutlery etc. but plate and glassware were good. Two queen beds and I slept better here than I have ever slept in Victoria! I'm a very light sleeper away from home and I got 8-9 hours each night here. I liked being out of downtown and it was only about 5 minutes away by motorcycle to our office near Blanshard and Pandora. Even at high commute times it was pretty easy getting around. I took the Rock Bay road going up to Bridge on the last afternoon and found the premium ice cream place, Parachute Ice Cream, with a line out the door. Nice to have that close by. I was on the fourth floor near the pool but I like hearing people having fun and they were mostly pretty quiet. No one was in it after 8:30 on the nights I was there. There's a games room near the elevator with big screen tvs for sports and it was used often. Heckler's Bar & Grill is at the other end downstairs, good takeout. Comedy some nights, trivia etc. There's also a cold beer and wine store above it - I like juice and soda and could get it without having to drive anywhere. There's also a Floyd's Diner attached to the building, very handy! Definitely a bonus. I found it very quiet despite being near Rock Bay and Gorge Road being worked on (maybe for the next few months ask for a room at the back). Lots of birds flitting around and the gorge is just down the road. Lovely staff who work hard inside and out. It is an older building with a snazzy paint job and vibe, so don't expect fancy or new.

Since the last visit in 2023 this hotel has only gotten better. They are paying attention to details that make customers stay better. The popcorn and games room is a nice fun family or team touch. The bathroom is clean and the shower has a water head and hand held that makes it easy for everyone and the mirrors are perfect for make up application. Beds are super comfy, not soft and linens - wonderful. Staff have been cheerful and helpful from day one. No execeptions. They have just opened a Diner Restaurant that is fun and super convenient! Not too far from town - this is great value, with a retro inspired hotel. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

We were upgraded to a queen deluxe suite. It was very nice and well appointed. Small kitchenette with nice coffee maker, microwave and refrigerator. There was a very comfortable leather sofa and a TV setup. The bedroom had a very comfortable bed and there was also a TV. The TVs are smart and are connected to the internet so that you can login to your AmazonPrime or Netflix ect. Finally got around to watching Oppenheimer. I used to live in Victoria and I love this area, great walking trails and access to downtown and nightlife.

This newly renovated hotel (formerly a Ramada) is a real bargain compared to the sky-high prices charged by most Victoria establishments. One can tell that the reno was done expeditiously and could use some follow up here and there, but the room was very roomy, had large comfortable beds (we got a suite, Room 405) for a very good price. Two Queens in the bedroom. A seperate sitting room and dining area with small, fully funtional kitchen (stove, fridge, micro, etc) Nice, modern, clean bathroom.

Paul

We had two suites (one was a free upgrade - thanks!) and stayed for 6 days. The suites were bigger than expected and newly renovated I think, so in immaculate condition. A few niggles (eg no toaster or kettle, light switches in odd places, no bedside lights etc) did little to dampen this and I would be happy to stay here again. Gym, pool and games room were nice and clean. A quiet walk into town was maybe half an hour via a footpath, the "Galloping Goose Trail".
